KBA Comet from Valencia finds new destination
The KBA Comet from Bidasoa Press in Valencia is getting a new home: El Tiempo in Bogotá, Colombia. This ambitious project comes with a tight deadline before Christmas 2024 🎄, the machine must be dismantled and removed out of the facility in Valencia.
To achieve this challenge, GWS Printing Systems has assembled a hybrid team: On-site, the project is managed by both a mechanical and an electrical supervisor from GWS. The dismantling process involves two technicians from GWS, two from manroland South Africa, two from El Tiempo, and additional support from specialists or temporary staff when needed.
The project is expertly overseen by Stefan van der Linden, with support from his Spanish colleague Jordi Segura. A big thank you to the incredible team making this happen: Christiaan Ferdinandus, Corné Copier, Isidoros Kyriakides, Wouter van der Linden (GWS), heinrich calitz, Enock Mxolisi Chilwane (Manroland South Africa), Gerben Koenen, Koen van Delft (external), Yesid De Ferrer Marquez, and Miller Hipolito (El Tiempo).
El Tiempo is preparing for the future with a brand new facility under construction in Bogotá. The assembly of the KBA Comet is scheduled for the early of 2026. With teamwork and dedication, we will ensure that this machine is on its way to Colombia before the end of the year.
